Use COHO eSignature to sign a tenancy agreement

When you property manager has invited you to an onboarding through COHO, these steps will help you to understand how you use COHO eSignature to quickly and easily sign your tenancy agreement online.

1. You get a notification that the agreement is ready to sign

When your properety manager has uploaded yuour tenancy agreement and it is ready for review, you will received a notification.

Notifications can take the form of actions within COHO on your My Home page as well as email reminders to your registered email address.

2. Start the process to eSign the tenancy agreement

When you log into COHO and scroll down to your onboardingm you can open the highlighted section for Signing the tenancy agreement by clikcing or tapping anywhere on the red highlighted bar.

3. View your rent schedule

The rent schedule that your property manager has proposed is availalable for you to view by clicking or tapping on the 'Proposed rent schedule' heading.

This will list the dates and amounts of all of the rent payments due within the fixed term of the tenancy agreement.

4. Download and view the tenancy agreement

Once you click or tap the button to 'view and sign the tenancy agreement' you can download and view the agreement that your property manager is proposing that you sign.

When you are ready to continue, click that button.

5. Download, view and acknowledge the compliance documents

What follows is a list of the key compliance documents that your propoerty manager has provided as part of the eSignature process.

These include:

  • The current Gas Safety Certificate for the property
  • The current Energy Performance Certificate for the property
  • The current Electrical Installation Condition Report for the property
  • The current HMO Licence for the property, if applicable
  • A link to the 'How to rent guide' provided by the UK Government

You must acknowledge that you have seen a copy of all of these documents before you can continue with your eSignature.

6. Confirm your identity

Before you sign you must confirm your identity. This can be done by email or SMS to the email address or telephone number you provided when you created your COHO account.

Whichever you choose, COHO will send you a 5 digit verification code which you must enter into the Verification Code box as prompted to continue.

If you have any difficulty receiving the code, you can ask COHO to resend it after waiting for 1 minute. You can also swap to the other identity verification method if required.

7. eSign the tenancy agreement

Add your signature using the signature pad on screen, using your finger or a mouse as approprtiate.

8. Confirm your eSignature

As a final confirmation step we ask that you acknowledge the confirmation statement and as a finally security step, re-enter your COHO password to continue.

9. Review your onboarding status

Your signature process is complete.

Your property manager will be notified immediately that you have signed the agreement and be asked to confirm with their eSignature.
